Description
For our Unit 02 project, we walked from the LCC building to the River Thames and recorded sounds along our way.
We focused on collecting the sounds from plants, plant habitats and spaces such as parks.
We show how plants are struggling to exist in cities.
Theoretical research
In the process of collecting sounds we discovered that the plants in the city may have been squeezed by humans.
A series of theoretical studies on the relationship between plants and the city were carried out.
We have conducted separate studies on plants and humans:
The study of plants included the herding nature of plants and whether plants themselves can be affected by stress and emotions.
The human research included the effects of plants on people's lives and the classification of urban noise.
brainstorm
research question
To ensure we had a strong narrative, we used the Setup, Conflict and Resolution storytelling structure as well as Think, Feel, Do.
This helped us to identify what our story was as well as to identify the audience we wanted to reach with the story.
Once we finalized on our research questions, story and audience, we moved on to try to define what our visual outcome should be.
We went back to our Miro board which already contained some visual references. We also added some more visual references to it.
inspiration
Our aim is to first show the gap in green or plant spaces in cities and that humans should make plants more comfortable.
Secondly, we want to show the negative impact humans have on plants including noise pollution.
